I watched 3 movies this weekend, and don't think I would recommend any of them.
The Dry - starring Eric Bana, based on the book by Jane Harper. I loved this book, and was gripped while reading it from start to finish. In the movie Eric Bana plays a guilt-ridden federal agent returning home to investigate the apparent murder suicide of his childhood friend and his family. i found the movie to be quite slow paced in comparison to the book, and it just seemed to drag. I wasn't feeling too well though, and I knew the story beforehand which might have affected my thoughts on this. 5/10
Stowaway - SciFi movie starring Anna Kendrick and Toni Collette. "A three-person crew on a mission to Mars faces an impossible choice when an unplanned passenger jeopardizes the lives of everyone on board." I'm not the biggest Sci Fi fan, which probably helped this movie in some ways as the science is questionable, and it was more about the relationships between the characters. 5/10
Where'd you go, Bernadette? - Rotton tomatoes movie info says "Former architect Bernadette Fox seems to have it all -- a beautiful home in Seattle, a successful and loving husband, and a brilliant teenage daughter who's about to attend boarding school. When Bernadette suddenly disappears without a trace, her concerned family sets off on an exciting adventure to solve the mystery of where she might have gone."
This is also based on a book, which is on my Kindle unread. This is really a story about mental illness, Cate Blanchett is excellent in this, but unfortunaly her acting alone couldn't do enough to save the movie. 5/10
