Review
I had not seen this in awhile. Not really crazy about these movies, I find them a little overrated, that's not to say it isn't a good movie. I think I have only watched one of the sequels and this has got me interested to watch the others which I will do sometime soon. I have not read the books so I can’t compare them though it seems a lot of work was put into this movie from both acting and the production itself. You can see they were going for Oscar work here. One thing that puzzled me was how easy Lector escaped and made it to the Bahamas. Speaking of escapes, that was probably one of the more memorable scenes in the movies. A Decent pick if perhaps a little predictable.
Trivia
With twenty-four minutes and fifty-two seconds of screen time, Sir Anthony Hopkins' performance in this movie is the second shortest to ever win an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, with David Niven in Separate Tables (1958) beating him, at twenty-three minutes and thirty-nine seconds.
