Are Liverpool going for 4 cups, fair play to them

Sure are Big Grin

It (almost certainly) won't happen, but the ride is great fun!

Technically not, have to put in passport details etc. I'd be amazed if they checked though, never known it before

That was my intention initially too but when they started asking for passport numbers I text my mate and we said we'd go if either of us get picked  pac

Yes we even doubled up to increase our chances  Big Grin

Three of us applied, each with one of the others on their application. If the other two get tickets and I miss out I'll be raging!

Did you add in the group ID in case you all get picked? I just went for category 4 tickets I couldn't justify spending more than 70 on the match ticket

We did, yeah.
We applied for cat 4 but ticked the box to accept cat 3 as well, if Liverpool are there I'd pay that

Looked at flights though, about €700 return from Dublin 😬

RE: Soccer Chat - Zaph - 25-04-2022

Leeds playing Palace in 20 minutes and all Sky have is Jamie Carragher shiting on about Liverpool. Did they not do enough of that yesterday?

Mate is thinking about leaving on the Friday and driving there though honestly, the flight would be cheaper with the price of diesel at the moment!!

Even as a MU fan, I like Klopp such a likeable fella

RE: Soccer Chat - Wichita Lineman - 29-04-2022

The son and I working on a cheap way to Paris. Then we'll worry about tickets, although we are in the official ballot so you never know.

I've booked this hotel, on the train line between Stade de France and CDG Airport. €80 a night for a twin, free cancellation

Is anyone an Ireland season ticket holder?
...that wouldn't be using their code for extra tickets to the Scotland match?

Just trying to skip the queue if I can Tongue

I was for a few years pre-kids, it was an endurance test, especially the end of O'Neill's reign

Would driving and ferry be affordable even though I think driving in France is stressful

RE: Soccer Chat - Kol - 29-04-2022

Whats the story with flights, price gone up becuase of the match? Could probably fly into somewhere close enough and get a train, brussle maybe.

Apparently I could drive there in 17hr or walk it in 14 days, I dont think Google has seen my fitness lately Smile

Yeah, flights from here were around €500-€700 return. Far was direct flights on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. Paris is well connected though, so there should be plenty of clever ways to do it

RE: Soccer Chat - Zaph - 29-04-2022

Cheap flight to London and get the train to Paris?

RE: Soccer Chat - Kol - 29-04-2022

A lot of the British will be travelling that way. Can they put train prices up like they can flights?

RE: Soccer Chat - E.N. - 29-04-2022

For example, a very early flight to Nîmes is €20
Direct TGV to Paris in three hours then

I travelled around on French trains for the euros, they're great

That said, if I get lucky in the ballot I reckon I'll treat myself to a direct flight 🤞

Of course they will.  Doh!  And yeah, I'm sure Eurostar prices are probably variable, or they'll find a way to up them for the game.

RE: Soccer Chat - Necro - 30-04-2022

As much fun as the driving thing would be if we get tickets we'll probably do the Nimes thing. Though as a result of this entire whisper of a match in Paris I've already had to agree to Eurocamps there next year so the missus can go😂

Tbf the kids will be a good age for a day trip to Euro Disney and I won't be bankrupt having to pay for accomodation in one of their resorts

That was a tight win against West Ham this afternoon.... I might just have to cheer on Liverpool next weekend now Tongue

We have to now, don't we?
Can't believe we are so close to top-4. Would never have us anywhere near when the season started.

At this rate you could get third!

RE: Soccer Chat - Kol - 02-05-2022

I never had a dislike for Arsenal, I wasn't watching football back in '89 and they disrupted Man Utd's dominance in the late 90s early 00s while Spurs have gotten cocky too much in recent years. Ideally though, Chelsea will finish 5th Smile

Same for me Kol, wasn't following the Premier League (or whatever it was called back then) back in the 80s, so don't have the references.
Even the rivalry with Spurs wasn't really in my radar until the first time I did the Emirates Stadium tour and our guide commented on it.

The only thing I care is that Liverpool wins. That will give us the option of playing for 2 results in the NLD.

RE: Soccer Chat - Necro - 03-05-2022

Ticket application unsuccessful for CL Final. Hopefully someone else is successful!

RE: Soccer Chat - Kol - 03-05-2022

I didnt apply, odds of getting picked was likely very small.

I read they are increasing the CL and want teams to play up to 10 group games. Thats madness, teams would need 2 full strenght teams these days to compete in everything.

Real fecking Madrid 🤣

RE: Soccer Chat - Zaph - 04-05-2022

Absolutely mental tie, both matches. City had plenty of chances to kill it off and didn't take them, so very little sympathy for them.

RE: Soccer Chat - ShaneU - 04-05-2022

Glad I actually have a team to cheer for in the final
