The tree however will not be going up to after the 8th!!! 😅

I usually hold off until the 8th too ! Or the week of at least!

Awesome!

Damn covid ruined my Christmas there.
Wrap up well!

Christmas FM officially launched on FM yesterday for its temporary license run. It's almost nationwide. Of course it has been online for most of the year. Since the pandemic, live broadcasts have been starting earlier in November online.

🥳 Always a true signal Xmas is here 😁
I saw it last Sat in my aunt's house 🤣

Town was filled with Xmas jumper wearers last night, lots of people revelling with friends and colleagues (myself included, but I was sufficiently sensible that I have not ruined myself for the Marco Pierre White leaving/Xmas work boozie half day lunch treat I'm being given today 😊🥳)

RE: The Foggies Christmas thread - nothing - 20-12-2022

Sorted my tv watching on my planner last night. Popped into the butcher this evening on the off chance of getting a duck for the big day, they just rang to say they sorted it. Now need to rethink my menu, have a tesco slot for Thursday. Puddings are going on tonight. Posted some cards and presents today. Still need to write the few to be hand delivered. Tomorrow will be the big clean up. Other than that, need to do up my xmas eve box, change the bed clothes and curtains, sort a hair cut and possibly dye it!

Die Hard 2 on the box now in my Dad's 😆 Definitely a Christmas movie!!!

Got my turkey crown and a ham today, need to buy some veg and fresh bits closer the time but all the other bits are sorted 🥳

RE: The Foggies Christmas thread - nothing - 22-12-2022

Puddings just gone on, one in the slow cooker, 2 in the oven in water baths. Tesco shop all sorted with adjusted menu, just have to hope there aren't a pile of subs. Still need to write cards. Still need to clean. But that's a problem for post sleep!

RE: The Foggies Christmas thread - E.N. - 22-12-2022

Blatant showing off alert

Our kids (4 and 2) have those little fairy doors on the skirting boards in their rooms. My wife sometimes leaves presents "from the fairies" next to them

For Christmas I built them their own fairy house under the stairs. Got a builder to knock the hole, but did everything else myself, about 20hrs work I think. New stud walls, clad in MDF and fabric covered foam. Foam doorframe too, so they don't hurt themselves. Wood ceiling and lining under the stairs. Carpeted it. Build the door from scratch. Put the lights up. I'm immensely proud of it...

The kids know nothing about it, we're going to start a treasure hunt from their little fairy doors on Christmas Day Smile

That's amazing Nitters, the awe and imagination that will inspire will be a lovely memory of the first Christmas in your new home.

It's also a handy place to lock them away. Tongue

Trick is head,  one arm and shoulder in first , then it's easy enough to wriggle in through small openings .

RE: The Foggies Christmas thread - ari101 - 22-12-2022

Homemade mince pies cooling in the kitchen. Munching on crisps, with a nice cold beer, the stove churning out heat and darts on the box ... It must be Xmas! 😂

RE: The Foggies Christmas thread - nothing - 22-12-2022

My puddings came out lovely, big shop came today. Still need to do the tidying up, but that's Future nothings problem. Presents arrived this morning to their locations. Finished up the last few cards, just have to see the few people to give them to.

Nearly there!

RE: The Foggies Christmas thread - Necro - 24-12-2022

Two crises averted in the Necro household since yesterday

Our eldests Nintendo Switch went kaput yesterday. With his Santa pressie a new Switch game there was a frantic scramble to secure a new console for him to play it on.

The second was also present related, kids normally go with their Nan to get presents for myself and Necrina, she was having her treatment so wasn't able to do it this year. Had to do another dash to town to pick up pressies for aunties and mummy.

I think I need a beer now.
