RE: We don't know where we are, but at least we know what to do - aaronjennings - 20-02-2023 Too many people think crimes and disappearances can be solved in the space of an hour-long episode of TV. I get that they're trying to help, but when the police tells them to f--- off, they really need to take the hint RE: We don't know where we are, but at least we know what to do - jp liz v1 - 20-02-2023 (20-02-2023, 11:34 PM)Necro Wrote:(20-02-2023, 10:46 PM)jp liz v1 Wrote: I do think just a tragedy but some details that came out were not needed plus how well was the search when they were saying she was not in the river I could be wrong but didn't some police and dive crew say she was not in the water and if searched thoroughly she could have been found sooner RE: We don't know where we are, but at least we know what to do - Barna77 - 21-02-2023 I'm ready for the backlash, but I will never understand why Irish media follow so much what happens in the UK. For the last couple of weeks, every time I went into the journal or joe.ie, this story was always a headliner or there would be pop up window with the latest updates. It was the same in the case of the girl killed in England a couple of years ago. There was even a vigil in Dublin. Don't get me wrong. it is a tragic story, but sure people disappear and are murdered in the continent too and you never hear of it. It's the obsession with UK news (sports specially, what do I care how Andy Murray is doing at the Australian open?) that baffles me. /barricades behind a shield RE: We don't know where we are, but at least we know what to do - E.N. - 21-02-2023 I think you're right Barna, I find it a bit odd Politics that affects NI etc I completely understand, but otherwise it seems OTT to me, and I grew up over there so presumably have more interest than most RE: We don't know where we are, but at least we know what to do - Barna77 - 21-02-2023 Totally agree on that. It makes sense to cover politics relating the north. Apparently it's not straight forward to find a body in water, especially one with tides. As unpleasant as it is many aren't found until they float as gases build up during decomposition. The rubberneckers who turned up to trespass and search properties while they filmed it for social media are the assholes here. I totally get it, I guess I just like current affairs Not just in Engerland either, I see the Spanish rail chief is in bother over ordering 250 odd million worth of trains that are too wide for the tunnels in the region 😂😂 RE: We don't know where we are, but at least we know what to do - Barna77 - 22-02-2023 (22-02-2023, 09:24 PM)Necro Wrote: I totally get it, I guess I just like current affairsThey made a bollocks out of it. Two have resigned (something unseen in Spain!) If it's any relief, the trains were only on the design stage of the manufacturing. Last night I coughed so hard I gave myself a hernia 😳 A bit of my intestine is literally sticking out through my (admittedly almost non existent) muscles! Spoke to a doc on the phone and it seems it isn't really anything to worry about, and it doesn't hurt, but it's pretty weird. I have to see a doctor in person next week and it likely needs a small operation to patch everything back up I never really knew what hernias were, apparently 25% of men get them at some point RE: We don't know where we are, but at least we know what to do - Leg End Reject - 26-02-2023 (26-02-2023, 12:52 PM)E.N.
