Last day in the office today (last day in work tomorrow)
Been sat on a bus for over two hours now though... think there was an accident on the M4. I will not miss this commute. Hopefully we'll be in Maynooth before I start my next job... 🤞

Wouldnt you think employers would be more considerate and allow people to stay out of the office as long as everything is being done. Particularly as this diesel / petrol price crisis continue. At this rate it wont be worth working at all.

Labor Laws in the US are awful, there is no limit on what employees have to work etc, employers just have to pay overtime on anything over 40 hours in a week, considering the amount of tax, college fee/loans, hourly rates, you will have most of the workforce working about 60-80 hours a week just to cover bills etc.

Had a pretty bad fall during a business trip back in May. Managed to twist my right knee, right ankle, bruise a couple of ribs and for some reason sprain my left hand, despite landing on my right side. Still trying to figure out how I managed that last part. My leg looked like a Jackson Pollock painting for a while and while I’m mostly back to normal, my right knee is still swollen and unsteady. Getting better every day though, and there’s no pain anymore, which is a huge thing for me.
Oh, and to literally add insult to injury, the whole thing happened right in front of some senior manager from our HQ in the US! I guess that’s one way of leaving an impression…

Yep, it wasn't fun. Getting home from Munich to Cork the next day was "interesting", to say the least, especially when you're flying from Munich, where the terminal (Terminal 1 at least) is just one loooooooooooooong narrow building and the moving walkways are out of action. Even with a visit to the doc and prescription painkillers it took about a week and a half until I could get a decent night's sleep again...

Did you try walking on the walkways? In Germany now, Berlin, and have found out, don’t take a stopped walkway as an out of action walkway, just step on it and it may spring to life, from a power saving mode, with sensors to detect when it’s needed. Was nearly going to walk up loads of steps until the lass in front of us wizened us to this as when she stepped on to the escalator and it sprung to life, we quickly corrected course from manual steps to functioning escalator, and added power saving and escalators to our experience card.

Tried that, the escalators at Munich Central railway station had this, but those walkways were as dead as a T-Rex. I tried walking on them, but they definitely didn't move. The handrails made walking a little easier though.

Had to go as far as the gp and pharmacy, so wandered down to the only open place to get tea, had a nice muffin and read a chapter of Hitchhikers Guide. Was a nice way to kill an hour, though they could do with a few sofas or comfy chairs
